Symptoms

In a client host, the VHCI (Virtual Host Controller Interface) driver is implemented as a USB host controller driver. It encapsulates USB request blocks and then transmits USB/IP requests to remote server hosts. In a server host, the Stub driver is implemented as a USB per-device driver. USB over Network (Server) shares any USB over network allowing to work with the remote USB devices over a local network or Internet as if they were connected directly to your local PC. USB Network Gate is a reliable software that will assist you in sharing local USB devices with multiple remote users across a local network and the Internet. The software is designed to provide secure communications over TCP/IP and will come in handy if you need to connect to a remote USB peripheral from Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. USB over Network has been updated to version 6.0.4! A new major feature has been added: Device Tags. It allows to organize large pool of similar devices in groups and enable notification or auto connect when any of these devices becomes available. Port names and drive letters are now showing on Client side. USB Network Gate successfully combines two parts, server and client, in one application. The server module allows sharing USB devices over the network while the client module lets you connect to shared devices remotely. Here’s how to provide access to USB over Ethernet in a few simple steps: 1.

Assume that you have a USB 3.0 hub that supports the selective suspend feature attached to a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012. Additionally, USB devices are connected to the USB ports. In this situation, all the USB devices may stop working, and they are displayed as removed from the computer.
Note This issue also causes a failure in the USB-IF compliance test.

Cause

This issue occurs because of incorrect retry logic for enumeration. The USB 3.0 hub cannot enumerate super speed ports. Therefore, all USB ports on the computer start to re-enumerate continuously. Then, all USB ports that are attached to devices stop responding.
